Snow Kitty
One winter evening about 8pm, I decided to take a walk in the great snow that had fallen that day. The air was so crisp & clean I was all set for a walk in the deep, soft snow. I got as far as the house next door, when something scrambled up my jeans & under my coat. Scared the livin' b-gg's out of me!!!! I managed to open my coat just enough to see this tiny little face looking up at me. This little fart was only about 5" long - couldn't have been more than 3 or 4 weeks old. Needless to say, that ended my walk.
Once I got back into the house, I gave him the once-over for fleas, found none, then wrapped him in a bath towel. The little guy was so tired, he slept for about an hour. Of course I had nothing to feed him so I opened a can of tuna, mashed it up really well, then added enough milk that it would flow thru a syringe I had from the Vet. (I used milk because I knew that might produce a loose stool & his little butt looks as tho he wasn't able to poop) I warmed the mixture a little & started to feed him. He was very hungry - grabbed that little syringe just like a bottle & went to town.
By the time Andy, my husband, came home Kitty was walking around the couch. He took one look at the kitten & said "Oh no, Oh no --- no cats." I told him the story of finding him in the snow & Kitty stayed with us for about 6 mo. Andy just couldn't stand the idea of cat hair on his cloths, so I gave in again. Snow Kitty went to live in Columbus at the home of some friends.
