Peepers
I was at the HSGD one spring afternoon, when a tall man, looking like a wrestler, came thru the front door holding out one hand which held a tiny black & white kitten. He said " I found it in my front yard & thought it best to bring it here." I happened to be standing right there so he handed it to me.
This little baby didn't have his eyes all the way open yet - probably not more than a week old. Well, I volunteered to foster it.
As you can see I couldn't give it up. I had the best time watching him grow - the way he learned to climb & jump - the way he & Cat would play together.
Sadly I didn't have him very long - not quite a year. He got over the fence & was killed. There was a nasty dog in a yard that met mine. My guess is Peeps went to visit & the dog killed him. I found him in the creek behind my house the next day. I brought him home - left him on a patio bench for a while so Cat could see that he was gone , then buried him in the yard. Cat didn't seem to be too interested & didn't seem to miss his friend but I sure did.
So no more cats until I can keep the doggie door locked.
